Petition – Call for UK to join the Creative Europe programme from 2027

As many of you know, the decision not to participate in Creative Europe means that UK-based organisations, businesses and associated artists are missing out on crucial investment and opportunities for cultural exchange and music export.

The European Commission’s budget earmarked for Culture within the Agora-EU programme has doubled again, with almost €1.8 billion proposed for 2028-2034. This means the budget for culture will be four times higher than when the UK was still in Creative Europe.

Back then, 609 projects involving UK organisations received €203 million (2014-2019). As a recipient of funding during that phase for our changemaking Keychange initiative, we can speak to how impactful this type of funding has been. Keychange has grown and is currently supporting participants in 30 countries. And other transformational music initiatives and organisations that have been supported include ESNS Exchange, Music Moves Europe, EMEE, Live DMA, LiveEurope, EMMA, and Reset!
