Since 2013, David has worked at Active Events, where he has assisted the delivery of tours for artists such as Elephant Sessions, Breabach, Capercaillie, FARA, and The East Pointers.
From 2022-23, David project-managed Scotland on Tour, an Active Events initiative funded by the Scottish Government to aid the recovery of the live music industry from the COVID-19 pandemic, through the creation of 350 new concerts in towns and villages across the country.

Hector recently joined the team as SSE’s communications manager. Since 2023, he’s been active in Edinburgh’s live music scene, running campaigns for the likes of Skerryvore and Transatlantic Sessions at venues like Usher Hall and Assembly Rooms. He has also done similar work for Edinburgh Tradfest.

Outside of comms work, Hector is an indie-folk musician.

Daniel is a founder member and accordion player with one of Scotland’s most dynamic Scottish folk bands, Skerryvore. He is also a co-founder and director of the multi-award winning Tiree Music Festival and Argyll’s largest live music event, Oban Live. Daniel recently completed a Masters in Business Administration at the University of Strathclyde as part of the global MBA25 corporate programme.

Donald Shaw is an acclaimed Scottish musician, producer, festival director and award-winning composer. He has recorded and collaborated on over 100 albums with musicians in all styles of music, created Bafta winning soundtracks and directed large-scale live commissions.

He is currently principal Creative Producer for Glasgow’s Celtic Connections; the largest roots festival of it’s kind in the UK, with an annual audience of over 120,000. 

Lesley is Festival Manager for Celtic Connections, the largest roots festival of its kind, hosting 300 events and welcoming over 1200 artists from 45 countries into 25 venues over 18 days in January each year. Celtic Connections also hosts almost 200 delegates each year for Showcase Scotland.  Working on the festival for over 20 years, she has produced performances with the festival for high-profile international events including the Ryder Cup Chicago, London Olympics 2012, Commonwealth Games 2014 and UEFA European Championships 2020.

She tour-managed the 12-piece supergroup Treacherous Orchestra, coordinating logistics, schedules, and live performances and project manages the Grit Orchestra, a hand-built 80-piece orchestra bringing together diverse musicians for ambitious, large-scale productions.

Gill Maxwell is the Executive Director of the Scottish Music Centre, a national organisation that supports and promotes Scotland’s music sector at home and internationally. Gill is on the the steering group of both Showcase Scotland and Showcase Expo, is the Made in Scotland music partner and and will lead Scotland’s first expo representation at Classical Next in 2017.

BBC Radio 2 ‘Musician of the Year’ Mohsen Amini from Glasgow, Scotland is a leading voice in the traditional world. Boasted by the Herald as a “Virtuoso” and the BBC Scotland as a “Force of Nature” he’s a founding member Ímar and Talisk. 

Jenn Butterworth is one of the most notable folk guitarists in the UK acoustic music scene. She currently holds the title ‘Musician of the Year’ from the Scots Trad Music Awards, and was nominated for the same title in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. An excellent collaborator, she has been a key member of a range of high profile folk music projects, including Ross Ainslie and Ali Hutton’s SYMBIOSIS Big Band, award winning folk powerhouse Kinnaris Quintet, three Celtic Connections New Voices, four years on the BBC Hogmanay Live show as a member of the All Star House Band and recently a member of folk supergroup ‘Songs of Separation’ involving an array of prominent folk artists including Eliza Carthy, Lady Maisery and Karine Polwart. 

Michael Lambert is the co-owner of Edinburgh-based artist management company A Modern Way, working with artists including Idlewild, Fatherson, Roddy Woomble, Tom Joshua and Zoe Graham.

He is  also a director of Scotland’s award-winning Music Convention Wide Days, which was founded in 2010, and takes place in Edinburgh each April.

Chloe Matharu is a multi-award-winning Scottish Indian singer songwriter and harpist on the West Coast of Scotland. Many of her songs draw on her time as a Navigational Officer in the Merchant Navy, inspired by the natural world as experienced at sea. On tour she performs solo with her harp in English, Scots, and Welsh. She has performed at impressive venues such as Celtic Connections, Cambridge Folk Festival, Glad Cafe Glasgow, Green Note in London, Fringe by the Sea, Edinburgh Fringe and Hartlepool Folk Festival. She received Celtic Music Radio’s Album of the Year for her debut album, Small Voyages and has recently released her second album, Sailors and Rolling Stone.  Chloe lives on her family run Alpaca Trekking and Goat Yoga centre.

David Francis is a songwriter, lyricist, storyteller, guitarist, and dance-caller. He recently retired as Director of Scotland’s network of traditional music organisations, the Traditional Music Forum.

Norah Campbell is Head of Arts for British Council in Scotland. The role works across art forms through the brokering of connections, working in partnership and delivering projects, such as the Momentum Delegates Programme during the Edinburgh August Festivals and the International Strategic Partnership with Creative Scotland. A graduate of Edinburgh College of Art and Strathclyde University, Norah has worked in both the public and private sectors in creative, strategic development and voluntary roles, and is currently a member of the Board of Creative Scotland.

Katch has programmed and shaped Knockengorroch Festival since its inception 27 years ago. Her company Off Site Productions provides live representation to bespoke Scottish and international artists. She has produced and project managed international residencies, recording and touring music and multi-arts projects. A qualified coach, she coaches and mentors artists and creatives. Previously on the board of Traditional Music Forum and SMIA, she brings a wealth of local and international experience both within and out-with the traditional music sector in Scotland.

After studying English Language and Literature at the University of Edinburgh, Alan spent more than 25 years in arts journalism. With an initial specialisation in film, he has held the positions of Editor of The List, Associate Editor of Total Film, Reviews Editor of Empire and film critic of The Daily Record. He was also the Artistic Director of the Kirkcaldy Film Festival from its inception until 2016. As Group Arts Editor across all titles in the Herald & Times Group, he spent the better part of a decade championing the Scottish arts scene in print, particularly music in the Sunday Herald and The National. He instigated the Sunday Herald’s cross-genre Top 50 Scottish Albums of the Year list and spent many years on the jury selecting unsigned bands for the T Break at T in the Park. In his early days, Alan played violin with the Central Region Youth Orchestra and Scottish Schools Fiddle Orchestra, sang regularly in end-of-term stage musicals and spent a couple of happy but unproductive years in a teenage rock band after teaching himself guitar. Alan is now Head of Music at Creative Scotland, the main funder of Showcase Scotland Expo.

Siobhan is a Music Officer at Creative Scotland, the public body that supports the arts, screen and creative industries across all parts of Scotland on behalf of everyone who lives, works and visits there, by distributing funding from the Scottish Government and The National Lottery. Specialising in traditional music, she works with artists and organisations to support recordings, touring, festivals, showcases, multi-arts venues and research and development, as well as offering industry sector support.
