Opportunity: Apply to play Between the Trees Festival 2027
Following fantastic partnerships with Cambridge, Shrewsbury and Sidmouth Folk Festivals, we’re thrilled to bring Scotland Introducing to Between the Trees in 2027. Taking place in Candleston Woods, on the Glamorgan Heritage Coast of South Wales, Between the Trees is a nature & science themed, indie folk festival which was named Micro Festival of the Year at the UK Festival Awards 2025 Next year’s edition will run from 26-29 August 2027.
Through this open call, we are seeking applications from emerging artists working in folk, roots, acoustic, world, Gaelic and Scots language traditions to be considered as part of Scotland Introducing at Between the Trees 2027.
Ten developing artists will be selected to perform at Between the Trees 2027 and those artists will:
- Be paid no less than Musicians’ Union minimum rates
- Be provided with accommodation for the duration of their stay
- Receive appropriate catering/hospitality while participating
A longlist of applicants will be selected by a Showcase Scotland Expo panel of industry experts. Ten artists will then be chosen from this list by the Between the Trees and the festival will contact the artists directly to arrange performance details and negotiate terms.
This is an opportunity to present your work to new audiences within an established international festival setting and to be part of a curated Scottish focus strand supported by Showcase Scotland Expo.
The deadline to apply is 23.59 on Sunday 27th September 2026
