Calum MacPhail

Talented Scottish accordionist and singer Calum MacPhail began his musical journey at age seven, raised in Fort William and Inverness, utterly engrossed by the Highland music scene. Learning from Scotland’s most esteemed accordionists, he set the stage for a remarkable career.

At 16, Calum co-founded acclaimed trad folk band Hò-rò, winning MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards Up & Coming Band of the Year in 2017. The seven-piece tours regularly across the UK, Europe, and recently China, with three critically acclaimed albums showcasing his boundless creativity.

In 2021, Calum clinched Original Work of the Year for 7 Years Old, a poignant song on parental addiction that raised £2000 for suicide prevention charity Mikeysline. His debut solo album At Last… (2023) blends Celtic music with country pop, featuring chart-topping single Oh My Darlin’.
