HEISK

Six-piece trad outfit HEISK—taken from an old Scots word meaning ‘excitable’ or ‘crazy’—are a force on stage. Fusing accordion, fiddle, electro harp, kit and keys with big energy and bold riffs, they twist traditional and self-penned tunes into something fresh and fierce. Their party vibe lights up festival crowds with a fearless blend of trad roots, funk grooves and pop hooks—music made to empower and get people moving.

The band sparked into life after a late-night session at the Celtic Connections Festival Club, when the founding members decided to form a group celebrating great women musicians. That spark became HEISK, a band with rhythm, energy and empowerment at the core of their sound.

Their most recent album Headstrong, released in August 2024, captures that live fire—a set of tunes fusing traditional melodies with funk grooves and pop sensibility. It’s bold and unapologetic.
