About The Event
Since 1955, Sidmouth Folk Festival has celebrated folk music, dance, and song by the sea – a vibrant and inclusive gathering that honours tradition while embracing innovation.
Every August, tens of thousands of visitors descend on the beautiful East Devon coast for a week of concerts, dances, storytelling, workshops, and sessions that bring the town to life. With world-class artists, emerging talent, and a community spirit at its heart, Sidmouth Folk Festival is a place where old meets new and folk traditions evolve.
Showcase Scotland Expo are delighted to partner with the festival, presenting 10 artists to perform at the 2026 event.
Building on their Sounds of Modern Scotland strand, this year’s programme includes Scotland Introducing – a selection of outstanding emerging artists chosen through an open call delivered by Showcase Scotland Expo. Representing folk, roots, acoustic, world, Gaelic and Scots-language traditions, these performers showcase the extraordinary breadth and creativity of Scotland’s music today.
Alongside these exciting new voices are some of Scotland’s best-loved and most influential artists, from internationally acclaimed headliners to innovative trailblazers continuing to shape the folk scene.
From intimate showcase performances to major concert stages, Scotland Introducing at Sidmouth celebrates the richness and diversity of Scottish traditional music while creating opportunities for artists to connect with audiences, fellow performers and industry professionals throughout the festival.
